actaully ..they were commanded to eat of the tree of life.... had they eaten of that tree first then they would have had eternal life and never sinned. They didn't have eternal life at first.. read what breathed soul into them means.. they were created to live forever til they eat of tree of knwledge..but that isn't eternal life. After they sinned then to eat of tree of life would have meant eternal death. read gen 2:16...in the Hebrew..they were commanded to eat of any tree in garden..commanded to eat of tree of Life and didn't.. tree of life was in center of garden and they could have eaten from it. remember Adam and Eve were created to use 100% of their brain... not the 6% we use and Einstein used 10% of his. they used 100% of theirs. and also remember that God named them both Adam..female Adam and male Adam... He didn't see a difference. the first 3 chapter of the bible are my favorite... I've dissected them in detail. in fact I think that male Adam sinned a bunch not just letting his wife eat of TOL. He was commanded to eat of all trees..that includes the TOL..he didn't He was told to guard the garden..letting a snake in the garden and to defame God and call Him a liar is not guarding the garden.( look up kumar as the word used... that word means guard from someone that would do harm. Who was there to do harm???? also, notice that when the instructions were given out about the trees..the female Adam wasn't there... So, why did she answer the questions so wrongly when Satan asked her about tree in gen chapter 3. Adam male may have told here wrong info. somehow she thinks the tree of knowledge of good and evil is in middle of garden. gen chapter 2 says that the tree of life is in middle. She also, thinks she cannot touch the tree of knowledge. She thinks to touch it you die...God never said that..He said eat of it. This is critical since when she does touch it and doesn't die, then she's convinced that God did lie and satan is telling the truth... Remember she thinks that God said you cannot touch it.... So, when she does touch it and doesn't die..then God has lied to her is what she thinks....funny how her excellent deductive powers from her brain is what got her in trouble...(sort of like today). Adam could have told her all that info on trees and told her incorrectly, another sin. BUt, God didn't count it against him tell they eat.
