I saw the CEO of QCOM on CNBC last Friday. I believe their technology uses CDMA not GSM. In fact, he (the CEO) stated that GSM would go by the wayside in his opinion. I guess CDMA can support more channels per given bandwidth than GSM - somewhere in the magnitude of 300 to 350% more in fact.

I hope LSI is not irreversibly linked to either technology - especially GSM - since it might not be around long. I also realize that GSM is predominate in the European markets. Who knows!!??

Also, the CEO (don't know his name) stated that QCOM has a new CDMA that is compatible with (actually works with it - without modifing the total network) GSM. This is great news for QCOM. I wish I wish I had some QCOM stock right now!! Let's hope that LSI is in bed with this company (I don't know) it would certainly be a positive for LSI.

Regards,

Gary
