I believe "Jan 10 at 2" means the Jan puts with strike price of $10 were bought at $2, hence the $20,000 speculation, $200/contract x 100 contracts. So no, the buyer wasn't expecting MLIN at $2.

I've lifted the curse on MLIN by selling my position today at $8 ! I
haven't lost too much, because my buy was a shade over $9, but I think
I'd be better off with the money elsewhere. I just don't think this
stock is going anywhere but downwards for the next 6 months or so.

I of course fully expect there to be some positive news in the next
two days (because that's what usually happens when I sell !) so if
anyone feels the same, I anticipate there'll be another exit point in
the mid-9s by Monday.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

:-)
