Esa,

Sandisk is actually working on multi-level cell flash. True, they recently announced the production of double-bit flash but that doesn't mean they won't go to more level cell. The problem with multi-level cell is reliability. With double-bit, we already have two states that are between a "0" and a "1". Intel still has problem with reliability in their double-bit flash. I have a couple of articles about this subject that I saved somewhere. I will post when I find them.

Sandisk is the first company that goes into production with double-bit flash. Intel is still not in production yet.

Mike.
