Climate "science" is just another form of Political "science" or Social "science"... They are all perversions of real science. Real science requires that all conclusions are supported by data collected and processed under rigorous and reproducible conditions and is STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT. Even where a significant relationship can be demonstrated then causation must also be established. Very few in the AGW congregation know or use the terms "statistically significant" or "causation" but without them all the pronouncements of the AGW high priests are at the best, opinion, or at the worse, blatant propaganda. I have never seen any "study" that has been produced by ANY "climate scientist" that clearly shown a statistically significant result to demonstrate that anything that humans do, or have done has actually changed or will change the climate on a global scale. Even where climate trends can be demonstrated there is absolutely no evidence of causation by human activities. That is the challenge that any true scientist in any scientific field must meet in order for his theories to be accepted as valid. "Climate scientists" to a man have failed on both counts, significance of their figures and evidence of causation of anything they think they have "discovered".

So, why this quiet camaraderie between scientists and military higher-ups? The answer, most certainly, is uncertainty. It's politics. If DOD wants support to maintain its budget, they have to hop on the GW/CC bandwagon to get the POTUS to back them. As someone stated earlier, the climate has been changing for thousands of years. This is likely just another phase of that Climatic change, much of which we can do little about. I personally will dismiss any scientific conclusion about anthropogenically caused GW/CC that doesn't factor in the significant decrease in oceanic phytoplankton levels due to iron deficiency. It's not like a coincidence that the 20-30% decrease in marine phytoplankton has been a causative factor in the comparable increase in CO2 levels. Furthermore, how can anyone truly ignore the solar factors involved in GW/CC? Hawk
