I am long all my shares FWIW. I ve been told this many times about the seasonality but Ive never understand why it would keep working. especially if there are tax implications of getting out of a position then getting back in. who is to say that the sharp decline weve already seen is all those people bailing out ahead of this " seasonality" . more than likely it is the continued derisking of those hedge funds where tax implications dont come into play. Investors who can hold positions for more than a nano-second have a long term advantage.

As far as Peru goes, I might be concerned if there was an actual mine there but there isnt, and these governments need to encourage foreign investment.

OT was looking at beaten down newspaper stock today LEE. the share price has fallen from $35 in 2007 to $1.14 today. To my amazement they havent replaced their ceo who has been there since 1999. I wonder what it takes for a board to get rid of its ceo. bankruptcy?

AAB.TO AABVF update,

Their major holding Sulliden is recovering nicely (up from 2.00 a few days ago to 2.39). That is also a nice a gain from the April 31st value of 2.06. Before I get too excited about the discount to NAV, I have to remind myself that it was an even bigger discount back in 2008 - 2010. I suppose that on a market downturn, it could go back there again.

(Side comment: I wish I had known about this stock back then.)
