Hi EKS! I recall when you mentioned over on the Value Investing thread that you had picked up some SFL and I would have been well advised to follow you then.

Thanks for reminding me again that their avg fleet contract is 13 years vs. industry avg of 3 or 4 years. It sold off the last couple of days with the mkt, but it looks like a good entry point here for a starter position.

GE and UN are looking fairly attractive as well. Was thinking of adding to GE position after reading this favorable article on GE's dividend prospects going forward.

UN has been on my watch list for quite a while. It seems to have drifted down to a comfortable entry point. Now selling at 31.67, it looks to have plenty of TA support at 31.26 -31.30. Seems like a good defensive play that pays a decent divvie of 4.1%

I have positions in VZ, PFE, and INTC. And funny you should mention CSCO. Took a position a few days before its collapse last week, because it looks very attractively priced. I sold out after the initial hit, but it does look tempting enough for re-entry -- especially if the investing horizon is a year or more.

EKS, did you happen to spy this article questioning SFL's wisdom in raising the dividend in the face of declining revenues and huge debt?

SFL seems to be getting hammered the last couple of days. FRO is a significant client of SFL and FRO's CEO Frederiksen sees rough waters ahead.

Hello everyone--i have had SFL about forever and am well satified with its performance. However, i caution the board that SFL is not a shipping company. It is a finance company created by John Fredriksen--FRO founder with worldwide interest.
