Obama is just plain dumb

We throw a lot of invective at the man, but what is he really? I have no doubt he is highly intelligent, as are most of the Liberal Elite. Smarts are not the problem, it's their premises that make them stupid. Here is how I define the two major terms involved:

IGNORANCE: What you don't know.

STUPIDITY: (dumb) The inability or unwillingness to learn.

Nothing wrong with being ignorant. In fact, the more you know the more ignorant your are. It makes you realize how much knowledge is out there that you don't know. As Newton put it, "we are like children on the beach picking up shiny pebbles."

Stupidity is killing us.

The premises that make people Liberals keep them from learning why they are wrong. They build castles in the air of a perfect society and believe it can be attained if only enough laws are passed.

The premises that make people Conservatives keep them from learning whey THEY are wrong. You can't go back to some mythical past where everything was better. It wasn't.

What we need to do, IMO, is to set our premises on the concept that our goal is to leave people as free as possible to choose their own path. Using that premise, look at every proposed change with an eye toward that goal. If it promotes personal Liberty, fine. If it takes it away, no.

The key that will tell you what it does is to ask, "does it involve the use of force or fraud to achieve it's goal?" If it does, don't do it.

I do not think he is dumb. I think he is very cunning and wise and simply working the "change he wants" within the constraints of reality. The fools who support him on the loony left are more willing to self destruct than achieve their goals of the welfare state. Dumb - what is being willing to risk the financial future of the nation to win an election - dumb or something far worse.

Obama is not dumb - he is very cunning and hence formidable in that he may achieve what a blatant overt socialist could not.
