You're a brave soul to take on the bulldogs. I don't blame Paul for Qualcomm's situtation. Good, bad or whatever, he's just like the rest of us. It takes much more than one person to generate multi-billions of dollars year after year. When getting down to getting things done, most CEO's are mediocre. That takes teamwork down through the ranks.

When it comes to discussing company performance, most around here can get pretty shallow. I think that may well be because of having a constant stream of options on the line.

Qualcomm execs are a weird bunch. They just cashed in a couple billion worth of options for minimal gain which likely popped a few billion dollars into the company's domestic coffers. I find it most interesting that this happened in conjunction with the Atheros acquisition. Selling right before announcing that transaction was most weird. It might well turn out that this funding was a gift from the execs to existing shareholders in that it may well have facilitated non-repatriation of foreign cash. Like everything, we'll just never know.

Mirasol is touchy due to possible screen manufacture costs. Once the product and efficient manufacture is perfected, there are lots of uses for a low power, low cost Mirasol type screen coupled with low power RF, non volatile memory and application processing. It has never been the vision nor basic engineering that's been the issue. Time to development and delivery of product has always been a squeaker as has alignment of technology with market needs.

Promoting perfection within an unproven market and allowing failure can be a horrible combination. my 2 bits

wrt why I'm still here. I have my point of departure. It was set in the late 90's and previously reached. I was away. Irrespective of whoever runs this outfit, I am more than confident that it will come around again. If it doesn't, I'm likely here until I'm six feet under.

<<If QCOM share price and execution were in place the last 5 years, no shareholder will complain even if IJ's son is Sanja Jha and SJ is the current CEO.>>

QCOMs share price is in line with the market over the past 5 years. Add in dividends and it is ahead. Sure, I think QCOM should have handily beat the market, but am more than satisfied owning a high growth company at a value price.

QCOM vs. DOW VS. S&P 500 VS. NASDAQ:
