Re: WDC Customers

Pierre/ALL - awhile back, I bought WDC at $38 based in part on information I thought was accurate. And that was...WDC was a (if not "the") major supplier to both Dell and CPQ.

All the major PC co's have (at least) two disk suppliers qualified -- a primary and a backup. But keep in mind these are contract sales. Nothing prevents CPQ from buying Fujitsu drives by the truckload in the spot market -- and they probably ARE.

WDC is a qualified supplier with both CPQ and DELL, but I don't know whether they rated primary or backup status. My guess is ... well I won't burden you with idle speculation. I'll dig through the filings once more. It would be educational to put together a table of all the tier 1 venders (and tier 2 as well perhaps) along with their qualified suppliers for each major component.
