MJ...with obama in the White House radical moslums and homosexuals seem to be doing great at advancing their agendas.

On Harvey Milk Day, San Francisco Elementary School Kids Read My Uncle's Wedding

Each week, Easy Target alerts you of potential advances or threats to gaykind from the forces of the news media, politics, and popular culture -- the front lines of the culture wars -- in San Francisco and beyond. This week, a gay author indoctrinates our school children. Superheroes will rescue Moscow Pride. Academy of Friends might have some frenemies. Orbitz gets caught between the truth and Fox News. A pedophile lurks in the Vatican. And a trans woman gets beat outside a 7-Eleven.

To celebrate Harvey Milk's legacy, an unidentified San Francisco elementary school invited author Eric Ross to read from his new illustrated children's book, My Uncle's Wedding, in front of a wide-eyed audience of 40 first graders. What?! Kids learning about gay people?! What's next? Science? In March at the book launch party for My Uncle's Wedding, CA Senator Mark Leno came to A Different Light bookstore to present Ross with a proclamation for the book's "vital role in creating a brighter future for LGBT youth and their parents." Yet, how bright can the future be when the name of the elementary school that invited Ross this week is being withheld from the press out of fear of backlash? Risky.

Don't rain on Moscow's Pride parade. The Russian capital has canceled the Pride march scheduled for this Saturday because the mayor claims police can't protect the participants. But activists are set to hold one anyway. Yes, two years ago, Moscow Pride ended with violent police arrests and last year, the neo-Nazis crashed the party (bummer!) This year, however, openly gay former soldier and DADT activist Dan Choi is ready to march and even spend the night in jail to show his support. Similarly, actor Sir Ian McKellen issued a statement calling the mayor of Moscow a "coward." So even if the city can't protect its own citizens, we can always count on a wizard/supervillian and a proud soldier to do the job. Risky.

No rush here, but it looks like your tux can stay at the dry cleaners for the time being. Academy of Friends, the nonprofit group that throws an annual Academy Awards gala in support of local HIV/AIDS service organizations, is broke. Kind of like San Francisco Pride is broke. Academy of Friends owes more than $100,000 to community partners, who despite the fact that they haven't seen a full paycheck in months, continue to support AOF. You know what I call a friend who hasn't paid me back in a year? An enemy. Risky.

Media Matters, a non-profit set to "correct conservative misinformation," has launched an attack on Orbitz for advertising on Fox News. So Bill O'Reilly took time on his show this week to defend the travel company. It was just the type of infotainment Fox News does best. Our friends at Unicorn Booty were not having it, however. "Every business decision is about taking sides. You can't have your gay (dollars) and beat it too," the gay blog warned Orbitz. As if advertisers needed any more reasons to Drop Fox. Risky.

Someone at the Vatican was taking his job with a little bit too much conviction. And no, it wasn't the pope. As it turns out, a priest working for the Vatican adviser on pedophilia is a suspected pedophile! His Craigslist ad would read something like this: "51 year-old [+] male looking for young boys with daddy or Father issues and who enjoy getting tipsy off communion wine. Had your Confirmation? Too old, I'm afraid. Altar boys, a plus." Dangerous (but not surprising).

Dayum! Can't a girl crave a Big Mac or a slushy nowadays without getting the shit beat out of her? A 32-year-old woman was attacked by a mob outside a 7-Eleven in Virginia. The state offers no hate crime protection but at least local media has learned to use the right pronouns! Dangerous.
