You are right about what Greenspan actually said; I also read that. But, every where, I heard commentaries about his remark as having a minimal impact and I believe the stock market was relieved on Thursday and Friday as a result of Greenspan's testimony.

I continue to feel, though, that Greenspan did not know of the Japanese move to sell US Treas, which is a critical element in my equation about the US stock market and US$ falling in the next week while other markets gain (or at least not fall).
