I did not manage to sell anything near the top. I sold about 10% of my Ligand shares on the way down for $15.75 and a few days later I replaced them with the same number of Ligand warrants for $8.625. If LGNDW drops below $5 I will get problems with the margin requirements of my Datek account. But I think I will prefer to sell something else in that case or move more money into that account.
I don't think that any Ligand shareholder cared very much if Ligand made its deal with J&J or Ely Lilly. Both Pharmas are big in the diabetes market.
