They are disappointed. They were hoping it would happen because then unemployment would really spike, thus ensuring they could gain control of the presidency, the House and the Senate.

Because that is what it boils down to. The welfare of the country is a lot less important than getting and holding power. We saw that with the K Street project.

Technically speaking, it isn't treason. But it sure is something not very nice.


That's the part that's really surprising. They really don't get how they come off to the rest of the world. They are like the overweight relative who covets the food on the table when the family sits down to eat. S/he doesn't think anyone notices the spittle dripping from their mouths as they decide how much food s/he can fit into their stomachs.

As you said, its not illegal but its not very nice and certainly doesn't set a good tone for the country.
