The Republican's have been the true "elitist party" for a hundred years i.e. we all know the Republicans are for the rich as much as we all know smoking causes an early death. Look who Teddy Roosevelt and FDR fought. The Duponts, Rockefellers, big banks and large corporations. The robber barons. And they have taken control once again. Soemthiing the liberals have been trying to tell Obama since he became president. What confused people was the workers were voting for Republicans, and especially the heartland. But it was a simple trick the rich used to fool the heartland. Propaganda. simple old propaganda. Lee Atwater. The trick was to tell the heartland workers: " we share your cultural values. Look in the mirror, we are you, e.g. we are Christians, pro life, against gun control, for the death penalty, preserving segregation to the extent possible, against gays, etc. The liberals saw this was propaganda and a trick not unlike any that has been used by despots throughout history to control the workers. The conservative foks in the Heartland did not understand this. Most still don't. They do nto see how the rich have a plan to control them. The heartland fell for it and as a consequence lost their unions and much more. They have had 50 years of terrible leadership absent all liberal thought at the state level. And those states are among the poorest. The liberals, generally being more thoughtful, saw it for what it was and fought it. Finally, after 50 years, the right wing went too far with medicare and the heartland seems able to see, at last what the neo cons have been doing especially since the 1964 civil rights act. PS Bush's economics professor said Bush is a true elitist. He thinks his class have special rigths given by god I guess-lol? He also said bush was in the bottom 10% of his students and a pathological liar. <<The other evening I was speaking with a friend's college senior son who's preparing for law school. He was describing the the various law schools and their rankings, noting, as we know, that graduates of the Tier 1 schools are guaranteed high starting salaries at prestigious firms upon graduation. He also mentioned that getting into these schools is much harder than it appears because a large percentage of slots are reserved for alumni sons and daughters, particularly those who make significant financial contributions to the school. Grades? Well, as he put it, there's a lot of "wiggle room" in these cases.
