Manchester, CT has a 4.77 mile road race every Thanksgiving Day @ 10AM. I think this year is the 75th running.

While I've run it appx 20 times, I haven't been there since 96.

When I first ran the Boston Marathon in 1978 it had a field of 5,000 and Manchester was probably over 6,000. Manchester draws around 12,000 every year (unless the weather is ugly then there can be some no shows).
