Fran‡ois, good to see/hear from you again, my friend. RE: your enthusiasm for being short, I hope it was at the "top" down here in our DOW :0)

RE: your anticipation of US bond dumping by Japanese Life Insurance Companies or Japanese Banks, I'm not so sure that is what we should initially be looking for...

I think we have a bloody mess ahead of us in USA stock market as bonds are the much promoted panacea du jour (in Japan) to tide them over until their "economy" picks up from all the low interest rates stimulus. The Japanese institutions borrow at .5 from gov't, buy our US treasury 10 yr bonds at...oh, say 5.4% and pocket the difference
x bazillion yen committed to this process. That is how GreenExpand and Volker/Rubin told them was the way for them to "get well."

I believe a strong case has been made for them running out of "time"
for this process to "heal***" their banking system.

The allocation of % managed money into bonds and out of stocks in USA has been underway since oh.....say June 97...

We'll have to wait and see.

***I'll contribute more from said retired banker/analyst on this subject later this week as I have more time to "cut and paste." He isn't the greatest speller in the world and his grammar requires editing for easier reading by our ears since English is not his native language.

Doesn't obscure his message tho'

He's one P O W E R F U L writer, wouldn't you agree?
