Latin America boasts fastest Net growth

"...A study released Wednesday said that usage of the Internet is growing faster in Latin America than anywhere else in the world. The research was reported by Nazca S&S, the Latin America network of Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide. This growth, the report added, is bring
fueled primarily by women. "Quite frankly, these findings surprised us," said Bruno Haring, Director of Research Services. "We believe this means the Internet has great potential as an advertising medium for both brand and image building." Among the study's findings: from 1995 through 1997, usage of the Net has increased more than 788 percent in Latin America -- almost double the average growth rate worldwide; and the average Latin America user spends 8 hours/week surfing the net, approximately 15 percent longer than her European counterpart..."
