><>...Hi Ghunk, your question deserves a fluffless ans. ">>>The only indisputable fact we are working with is -- we will die. All of us. (And some fortunate few may die before they die). Death, what is that? This is the essential question. Everything else is fluff">>> I sense something special from your writings. It seems to me that you have an innate ability to veil your true concerns. I also sense that you are at a crossroads in your life. Ghunk, crossroads are unavoidable, and it is only the informed heart driven by wisdom that gets us to the next intersection safely. Now to your very considerate question; "Death what is that?" As you said, we will all die. But Ghunk it is so much more than just that. The flesh man dies once, and then after that the judgement. The flesh must die it is decrepid. It gets old and lifeless. It is prone to disease and sickness. It is utterly deacyable. The flesh body is just a container, if you will, for our spirit. Ghunk all men (no Gender implied) have 2 bodies, a natural (flesh) body, and a spiritual body. The first body (flesh) must die in order for the spiritual body to live. Consider a kernal of corn; When a kernal of corn is planted it dies, or sheds its skin, thereby allowing it to bare a new crop, which springs forth into new life. The natural (flesh) body when it dies turns to dust from whence it came, and the spiritual body which is contained within the natural body arises and returns to God who gave it. Now having said that you must understand that this spirit that returns to God must be judged. This judgement does not occur until judgement day, which has not taken place yet, and will not take place until all the souls that God created have returned to Him . God tells us that our flesh which is corruptible must put on incorruption (spirit) and this mortal (mortal= liable to die) must put on immortality, (not liable to die). It goes like this Ghunk; When we die our flesh goes back to the earth,(dust to dust ashes to ashes) but our spirit body goes immediately back to God, to await judgement. The judgement can and will be good news for many, it will mean eternal life for them, but also unfortunately for many it will be the end. But God is fair and He will judge no one to death by His own hand. We are the ones who make the choices that determine our destiny, our final destiny ! So death of the flesh is a must, because God has said that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God....But death of the spirit is not an absolute . We can live forever in the wonderous presence of our Almight Father if we choose to. Ghunk, God will not judge any one to eternal damnation that does not have all the truths of His ways. There are so many who just don't know what they should believe. With all that is preached in the world so many are just so confused, and some were never even shown the truths of God. Many are raised in homes that were void of God completely and as adults may never have been in contact with any of God's truths, and consider those who may have been taught about God but never the truths about His Son Jesus The Christ who died for them. Even in our own society there is a preacher on every corner warning that if you don't believe as they do you will never get to heaven. This is so even within the circles of them that preach Jesus. What is a person to believe? God will not judge any one to eternal damnation if they never had a chance to know the truth, and God Himself will judge whether or not they had the chance. If they never had the chance they will get it....The millennium (The 1000 yr. reign of Christ)provides for this. It is the sole purpose that God our loving and fair Father has established it.! We can know right here and Now (while we are still alive in the flesh) of what will become of us, by repenting of our sins to God and believing HIS word, and comimg to the knowledge that Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world. John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And in that promise from God our Father... there is no death! May God show you the way Ps 34:18 18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Have a good day Ghunk, Sincerely,....NO fluff...smile... Shalom...><>
