Jacob,

I suggest adding components for electric vehicles, in particular lithium-ion batteries which also have a side play for use on the power grid, and some potential for use in the home longer term.

Or components inside lithium-ion batteries, ie separators.

re 7 PV metrics:

Here's how I'd rank them, in order of importance:

#1: manufacturing cost
2: bankability
3: efficiency
4: Technology Differentiation (Performance-Related): Only important as it effects #1,2,3. If it doesn't show up in those metrics, it doesn't matter.
5: Technology Differentiation (Product-related): If it doesn't affect costs, it doesn't matter.
6: Business Model Differentiation: Again, not an independent factor.
7: Historical Local Presence in an Emerging Market: If this were true, Chinese companies wouldn't dominate in Europe and elsewhere.

So, only the first 3 really matter.
