The DRAM story is pretty-well known. Foundries worldwide are following MU's lead to smaller die sizes which is exploding supply, even though demand is increasing rapidly, hence the soft prices.

My understanding of the DSP market is that these products are essentially not commodities, that there is plenty of customization and value-adds.

If TI's share is north of 40% in this market, doesn't that mean that a like-percentage of DSP's are designed using TI's tools, etc. That doesn't sound like a commodity business to me.

Mr. Bug,

When it comes to DRAM, I don't believe we can apply past
performance to future performance. I suspect TI will get
its DRAM house in order and be competitive with the best
in class. One should not discount the determination and
capacity to correct this.
