May be tough for Groupon to go public if they are still showing large quarterly losses...I know they are investing heavily in marketing, subscriber growth, the technology platform, etc...but this is NOT the stock market of the late 1990s where losses didn't matter at all -- back then it was all about future expectations...Today the market wants to see more mature companies that have proven business models and strong profit growth...Groupon faces intense competition and how can they convince outside investors that they will dominate their category in a PROFITABLE way for years to come ??
