I'm a pilot. Flying since I was 14 years old, soloed when I was 16 years old, and that was 40 years ago. I still fly

The proposed solutions and thoughts about that flight that are listed on this thread are certainly viable in trainer aircraft. This was hardly a trainer.

I took flying lessons once. Even soloed.

But I realized I was too easily bored, too easily distracted, congenitally incapable of performing in a crisis. All the characteristics of a pilot who dies young.
