<Do most carriers in the US offer unlimited download for their cellphone plans?>

No, in fact, recently all of the major cell providers announced that first they are discontinuing offering any new unlimited data plans; and second, after "grandfathered"/existing unlimited plans expire (max of 2 years for all), those customers will also be unable to renew existing unlimited plans.

VZ used to offer unlimited plans. For example my main client has an unlimited plan for his mifi gadget he uses for travel and backup access -- OT: we traveled to one of his company's clients one day and he set it up while we were taking a long lunch to discuss/research client questions... very nice... never used one before... up to 5 wifi users can connect with it. But VZ no longer offers unlimited plans.

I have VZ due to coverage requirements and am looking into a mifi device for myself, but discovered VZ only offers 5GB and 10GB data plans for mifi, with $10/GB for exceeding the plan limit. Fortunately, at least I can deduct that cost.

I've checked around and it's pretty much the same story at all of the major cell carriers.
