Greetings Cisco, It gave me great pleasure to read your words because they showed a deep love for Christ and Words. I pray that God will give us grace as we explore the depth and myteries of His salvation. Christianity is merely the family of God. To become a Christian is to become a member of the family of God. There is only one way for a child of Adam to become a member of the family of God--he must die and be born again into the family of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Adamic race had been spiritually murdered--cut off from the family of God-- through the deceptions of satan. Fallen man was utterly incapable of raising himself once more to the sonship of God. The most holy of the children of men--the children of Israel under the old covenant-- could not restore their sonship. The sin of Adam had poisoned the entire tree of our race. God would create a new race--tree--through the death and Resurrection of Jesus. In Matt. 3:10, the Word of God tells us that God through Jesus lay "the axe to the root of the tree." The old Adamic race was to be destroyed and a new race created in the image and likeness of God through the Life, Crucifixion, and Resurrection of Jesus. In Jesus, mankind was to die on the cross, be buried with Jesus and be raised in newness of life. On the Cross, Jesus became sin so that man could become the righteouness of God in Christ. IICorin. 5:21. Through faith in Jesus man is born again into the Kingdom of God as a child of God. This simply means that God recreates the dead human spirit while the old spirit is buried with Christ. We are a new creation in Christ. In Jeremiah 31:33, God had promised that he would make a New Covenant by writing the laws in our hearts and putting them in our inward parts. God achieves the New Covenant by recreating our human spirit through His Holy Spirit. In recreating our human spirit, God prepares a house or tabernacle for himself. We must not confuse our recreated human spirit with the Holy Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit of God is a n individual just as the recreated human spirit is an individual. Our new tabernacle is then prepared for the dwelling place of God through His Holy Spirit. We must then invite the Holy Spirit into the tabernacle. This is the baptism of the Holy Spirit that spoken of in Matt. 3:11--"he (Jesus) shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire." This is not the same as being born again, although it can occur at the same time. Being born again is the recreation of our human spirit by God. Being baptize in the Holy Spirit, is the Holy Sirit coming to dwell in our new recreated man. The recreated human spirit and the Holy Spirit are not one and the same thing. It is true that the Holy spirit must enter man to recreate the human spirit. The norm in the NT is for confessing Christ first and then the laying on of hands for the filling of the Holy Spirit. There are several famous examples in the NT. Paul's salvation and infilling of the Holy Spirit is a case in point. Paul called Jesus Lord after he fell from his horse and heard Christ's voice. This was the point of his salvation. Later Ananias layed his hands on Paul "that thou mightest receive they sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost." Acts 9:17. ---------- If we review the Legal and the Living or vital side of our salvation, it will help illuminate the difference between our new birth and the Holy Spirit coming to dwell within us as a helper and a comforter. They definitely can occur simultaneously but it seems that they rarely do. The Legal aspects of our new birth is that portion where our names are written in the Book of the Court House in Heaven. When the sinner accepts Jesus Christ as his Saviour and confesses Him as his Lord, that starts the legal machine in the Court House in Heaven. What is the Legal Side of our salvation. First, our sins are Remitted, wiped out as thugh they had never been. Second, we are legally Justified or set right with God. Third, our names are written in the Book of Life, the FAmily Birthday Book. Fourth, we are legally Adopted into the family of God and this has to be done in the court house. Fifth, Jesus publicly Confesses us before the Father and the Holy angeles. Sixth, we are legally Reconciled to the Father. Seventh, we are declared and made righteous. What are our Legal Rights as the newly adopted children of God?? First, we have a legal right to the Father's protection. Second, we have a legal right to Jesus' intercession. Third, we have a Legal Right to the Advocacy of Christ, the great famil lawyer. Fourth, we have Legal Right to a son's place in the Royal Family. Fifth, we have a Legal Right to a son's inheritance. Sivth, we have a Legal Right to the use of Jesus's name.Seventh , we have the Legal right to the gift of the Holy Spirit. These are all the legal rights of our new birth into the family of God. Just as we claim our righteousness by faith, we must claim all of our rights as the sons and daughters of God by faith. these are not imaginary or make up promises but real legal and living promises. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF ALL THIS TALKING IS: HAVE WE CLAIMED ALL OUR PROMISES IN CHRIST? To live the victorious Christian Life, the Christian must humbly claim the possessions that God has given him. --------------------------------- May God abundantly bless you and continue to grow you into the full stature of His Son Jesus Christ according to the true desires of your heart. Emile, a lowly sinner who was recreated into the image and likeness of God through the Blood of Christ.
