6/10/11 Contest Update
Weinergate week was wonderful for comedians but not very funny for investors.
At Friday’s close, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 10.70% YTD (vs. up 14.34% YTD a week ago) and the Contest median was up 7.48% YTD (vs. up 11.39% YTD a week ago). Now in the red for the year, the Nasdaq Composite Index was down -.34% YTD (vs. up 3.01% YTD a week ago).
MCBIO’s portfolio (up 47.86% YTD) still has a comfortable lead, with CRAZYP’s portfolio (up 36.73% YTD) and ROCKY’s portfolio (up 31.63% YTD) remaining in second and third place.
At Friday's close, 30 of the 38 Contest portfolios were in the black with 14 of the 38 beating the NBI.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week (foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these two tables).
Portfolio adjustments: None
Have a peaceful weekend biotechies!
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
