meathead, I spend my posts talking about what I'm an expert in.. Instead of you posting on your expertise, you argue about things you know zero about in Info. technology management, I've consulted with some of the biggest and most diverse compnaies in the USA......we don't worry about the fans. Inforamtion Systems is NOT ABOUT HARDWARE...THAT BETTER WORK. If it doesn't start retooling with new cpq's and dells. Don't spend abunch of effort on managing a sinking ship. That's the difference in you and me...I know I'm not an engineer and I hire great software and hardware engrs..... you haven't figured out that you aren't a brain surgeon... thread....be sure and check the name plate on your next operation... if it says MEATHEAD....run for the doors.. He's read a book and now performing surgery<ggggg>

meathead, managed networks with tens' of thousands of pc's.. maybe in 17 yrs a few fans went out and it didn't hurt a single thing... started making a weird noise and they sent an I/S request in and we changed it out and that's it..... 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of the fans aren't going to kill anyone if they go out. And, in decades of fan management we haven't changed that many. best to buy a cpq and dell......the fans and everything else doesn't go out. But, if I go off the deep end and decide I need a dept. to manage the fans in pcs.. I'll call you<gggg> BUY PC'S THAT DON'T BREAK...THAT'S THE ONLY ANSWER.
