Navy seals and other US military personnel always coat their bullets with pig fat when stationed in a muslims country. Most times it is just lard out of a can. I thought everyone knew that fact.
It has become a universal US military proceedure that grew on it's own as most of these type practices do.
I think that pork fat bullet coating scene was cut from blackhawk down just for political purposes.
This practice is done mainly for a mental satisfaction over the enemy.
