Jane, Sri Ramakrishna existed alright. I have spent many many hours speaking to an old man who was a friend of someone that knew Ramakrishna personally. I was going to write lots more but I see Carol posted a website devoted to Sri Ramakrishna. If there is such a thing as proof I would think he was proof positive that other traditions outside Christianity can lead to the Truth. BTW, towards the end of 1874, Ramakrishna was seized by an irresistable desire to learn the truth of Christianity. In Dakshineswar, while listening to Bible readings and looking at a picture of the Madona and Child he went into ecstacy and as we are told by the texts Christ possessed his soul. After that point and to the end of his life he never doubted Christ was an incarnation of God. In his room at Dakshineswar he kept a picture of Christ. Your past interest in Sri Ramakrishna is noted with interest.
