Can anyone suggest a free easy software program that will convert a divx file to an avi file? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I installed Win7 SP1. Initially, I was unable to install the service pack. I finally contacted Microsoft and all their initial efforts to install the pack failed. Finally, we did a repair of Win7 using my Window's install CD. We then had a successful installation of SP1.

I should add that the call to Microsoft was free. Apparently, MS offers free phone support for issues involving security. The failure to install the pack was considered to be a security issue.

I should note that I downloaded the service pack to my computer and then installed it. The other installation process is through the Microsoft Update Feature.

Hope this helps.

I've been running it for quite a while and have not had any problems. One of the computer newsletters I subscribe to (Windows Secrets) just gave their recommendation to install it. They had said not to download it until very recently.
