Carol,

>>>What do you think, not the great philosophers of history... They're all dead...<<<

I think I agree with the author of Ecclesiastes. "The thing that has been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: AND THERE IS NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN." I think certain individuals in history have gone into these things deeply and a handful were actually on to something. I think to avoid certain obstacles it is in my best interest to pay close attention to what several of those dead men said. I think when I speak my opinion, it is just that, opinion. I think its not in what you know, its in what you Know (jnana). This form of Knowledge is devoid of self. I think one begins to understand only, as Jacob Boehme writes, "when thou standest still from the thinking of self, and the willing of self." I think the beginning of knowledge is Akimcanna (self-naughting). I think it is all to easy to say what I think. I think that what I think gets in the way of what I really think. I think I better stop saying "I think".

p.s. a side benefit to being the dilettante I am of eclectic (I love my dictionary-grin) topics is I'm rarely at a loss for words during party conversations.
