Thus, these animals have to be in their habitats and not come around messing with us Homo Sapiens Sapiens.

what habitat would they have if you had your way?

what an ugly world your world would be.

Well elmat if my neighbour hung an eviscerated raccoon on a post outside his house.. I'd be thinking major wacko... not nice neighbour..

as to the raccoons being in their place.. well sure.. I sympathize with the guy and being dragged off in cuffs was stupid.. same would have happened I'm sure if it had of been a squirrel.. OTOH those same folks calling the cops would be calling an exterminator if they had a rat infestation ... what is a squirrel anyway :O).. I would add also that lots of folks up in arms live in cell blocks (apartment condos :O) where racoons and other things are a problem for someone else... the hired help... Bottom line is the guy is fighting a losing battle.. you can trap and release or just kill them... but the pickens are too easy and there is lots of quite beautiful green space in Toronto.. We get raccoons, foxes, rabbits, skunks and occasionally deer ... even the odd coyote.. in our neighbourhood. ran into a coyote two winters ago walking the dogs late at night.. Kill or move a raccoon and another one will soon move in.. a year tops... and since it is spring there will be a whole pile of young ones heading off on their own mid to late summer.. city needs a plan.. maybe we need raccoon catchers like dog catchers :O)

I had problems with racoons.. My property was a major raccoon highway.. When I moved in .. first summer found a huge bugger in my garage trashing the garbage.. picked up a big push broom, took a few steps at it and it just turned and got up .. was not gonna back down.. had to hit the thing before it would leave.. They are a problem .. they are smart and destructive.. Used to get up on my roof and crap everywhere.. tried to rip open my kitchen skylight.. best is one night my wife calls me into the kitchen and says look up.. There's two raccoons doing it like they were porn stars on the Discovery Channel :o) they crap all along the top of my fence.. I spiked the fence top.. worked nicely and took down a small tree so no more roof jaunts.. the feces spread disease.. can make one very ill and the damn things can be rabid.. so again I understand the guy.. My cat (a big one) could deal with the smaller ones and the squirrels.. then I got dogs.. unintended benefit.. almost NO MORE raccoons or squirrels for that matter.. in my yard.. too bad dogs can't climb trees.. maybe once or twice a year I get a visit.. no problem..

BTW the world would be a very sad place with only people in it.. IMO..

We Homo Sapiens Sapiens dominated the planet. We are the winner species here Look around at the majority elmat.. You really see that many winners :o)

I only take issue with folks taking pleasure in torturing animals.. once the thrill wears off where to next ?
