It happened twice in an airport lounge. I read a little book of The Economist. "The Economist Style Guide"

And then there was explanation of a bad written article on the very The Economist about the EMU.

As the analysis of the article progressed there were cartoons illustrating. As it happens Emu is a bird from New Zealand and they used it for the cartoons.

First I just smiled. Them I chuckled and at the end I threw the book on the floor as I was laughing uncontrollably.

The whole people look at each other and started laughing. I dashed to the WC to dry the tears of my laugh.

Wait a little bit. Came back and did not open the book until I got to Nigeria.

Second time in a wine bar in Munich. An article about Japenglish. (Japanese English). In a beer watering hole would not be big deal. But I was an upscale place in Leopoldstrasse.

The article told about funny English names Japanese gave to products.

When they said that there was a baby powder named:
Skin-a-baby I started laughing like crazy.

The patrons, beside me, tried to keep talk like nothing was happening -in typical German fashion- but I could not stop they no longer control themselves and were laughing with me.

I appologized and explain what it was about. And I pointed to the article line showing the name of the product.

Then was their turn. The bartenders and other patrons. Were looking amazed that this happens in a a German wine bar.
