I see little evidence that such a pipeline would be approved within Canada. The ideological warriors are both our friend and enemy on this issue.

Bob: Count on it. Not if, but when. Chinese ownership of flowing oil sands barrels just not at critical mass yet. It takes time but Canucks have long memories after being screwed over.
e.g. AECO-Nymex= Kitimat LNG & note time line of approvals: rigzone.com
Northern Gateway just starting to slog through the process.

The old (1950's) Trans Mountain pipe exists already & might also be worth a 'doubling' or so.

"The ideological warriors are both our friend and enemy on this issue."

Let me remind you that you are one of those ideological warriors, in fact one of the most fervid and unbending I have ever come across. You seem to forget that sometimes, no surprise really as that is one of the most common characteristics of ideological warriors of all stripes.
