I don't believe anyone here blamed the unions for what they built.

The unions are [correctly] blamed for making them noncompetitive.

$5 gas will drive people to buy underpowered cars. Nothing radical about that.

Have you ever seen an R drive a small car if he could help it? There is a reason why GM stuck to big cars and it has nothing to do with the unions.
