Speaking of evil, here's a de-classified layout of a U2 spy plane, a couple of which are currently being used over Iraq, which shows where an Ampex DCRsi data recorder is located.

My understanding is that the Ampex DCRsi has been and continues to be the data recorder of choice of the U2 and its successor, the SR-71 Blackbird. If you believe that Aurora - the alleged code name for the widely-rumored successor to the SR-71 - exists, there's a good chance that the DCRsi with the solid-state interface is the data recorder for that one too.

Any of you seen any weird-looking planes lately?
