Incredible. I wonder where that's coming from. Barron's just ran a main story on Japan, interviewing three strategists on Japan. The outlook wasn't real rosy. Out of the three, only one suggested that select stocks look like good buys here. Two of her picks were Uniden and Fujitsu.

BTW, the other big mover in Asia is Hong Kong:

That's a heck of a rally also, carrying above the 10,000 level, which some traders had been saying was support. Snapping back above 10K should have people breathing easier (for now).

Hong Kong up over 5 1/4% as well. This seems very positive. Article in Business Week about South Korea though paints a sobering picture.

Painful though it will be, a radical shakeup is Korea's best hope.
