I certainly agree the Volt has a dazzling amount of tech in it. I've been reading some of the tests though, and so far a couple of the car mags have found that the gasoline engine kicks in even with a full charge in colder climates. There have been comments about the puny amount of heat generated by the car in battery mode so perhaps that is the reason, but they weren't sure why. My problem with these cars is that I have kept several Toyota and Honda products for 17-18 years. That might entail up to two battery swaps with something like the Volt, and would cost mucho bucks. They keep talking about battery breakthroughs and I hope it can be done. Then again, I don't seem to be paying much less for laptop battery replacements over the past 6 years.... <ggg>

Best regards,
John
