That's the rub. Historically it seems like we've been on a continual slide to the left for almost 100 years, allowing for friction from the right to slow things but the pendulum was still moving in the same direction. Our current fiscal problems are nothing more than the predictable end result of a centuries worth of liberalism. Both sides are guilty....

So now I'm thinking that perhaps the pendulum is finally at the apex. We've seen the indications. There's been a resurgence in public awareness and direct involvement with gov't. trending towards conservatism that's the strongest since I've been alive. Most sane people realize how insane our debt is.... Both changes in gov't and changes in the way people think about gov't are going to be required to get us out of this mess. Both of those things should naturally take us to the right as a country.

Momentum is the question in my mind. There's a huge weight on the end of that pendulum.....<g>
