James, that's true. Republicans fought it when it was implemented. Bush later used it to buy the Hispanic vote. Republicans also warned that Fannie mae was growing wildly out of control. Forget his name. No one wanted the party to end.

I realize the mortgage crisis is the result of liberal policy, and I have been known to have defended Bush now and again, but he did not help the situation by giving that speech. He also did not help the situation when he failed to properly intervene and stop the insanity. JMO
