And the batteries in the two cars you mention are substantially larger, more complex, and as a result have to be way more expensive than one in a hybrid like the Prius. Guess we will just have to wait and see how the tech pans out. On a side note, putting on our former software engineering hats <ggg>, I was thinking about the possibility that Chevy engineers have a backdoor way to 'log on' to a Volt using something like Onstar or 3G since the car has an IP address. 'May we flash your computer while you are driving sir to fix the problem'??? The next hacker target??
