P200 MX OC - Cyrix CPU gets smarter with age!!!
My system seems to run Ok at 2.5 X66 but the BIOS doesn't identify the CPU as 200MX It just says 166MHZ clock. Would this mean that some of the Cyrix instructions don't get executed. Would a BIOS treat a Pentium 166MMX differently than a Cyrix P200MX?

I think there may be an ageing effect with Cyrix CPUs. It is my recollection that when I first got my P200 Puzzle was running in .71 sec. Now after about 2 mo it does it in .65 sec. The same seems to be true of my kids P166. It was running Puzzle about .05 sec slower when it was new than now. Has any one else seen this effect. Could Cyrix CPUs get smarter with age?<G> This is a significant 8% speed increase!!
