To all, news today on shipments of Tarantella:

Let the Dance Begin! SCO Ships Tarantella Release 1.0

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Nov. 19 /PRNewsiwre/ -- SCO (Nasdaq: SCOC) today announced the on-schedule delivery of its new Tarantella product ("Tarantella"). Initial shipments include versions of Tarantella for the SCO UnixWare system and Sun SPARC Solaris. Early in 1998, subsequent releases of Tarantella will be available for IBM AIX, HP-UX and SNI SINIX; SCO OpenServer and NT versions are planned for later in 1998.
Tarantella is the first Application Broker for network computing. With Tarantella, users can access any existing or new application from any Java technology-enabled client, without the need to install any software on the client device. Tarantella is able to publish existing and Java technology-based applications, without rewrite to existing applications, offering "write anywhere, run anywhere" network computing. Tarantella drastically reduces the time to deliver applications, allows more users to access the applications and allows administrators to centrally manage users and applications.
"Tarantella is a break-through technology for Network Computing," said Carl Crispin, Director of IS, Goodyear Tire & Rubber. "We've been testing Tarantella and it has a huge potential to solve our application deployment needs, and provide our corporate users with seamless access to our business-critical applications."
The first public demonstrations of Tarantella Version 1.0 can be seen at this week's COMDEX/Fall '97 show in Las Vegas. Show attendees can see Tarantella in action at the following locations:

* Wyse Technology's booth #L462 will preview their upcoming Tarantella based thin-client device, code named "SCOTT," which is a contender for Best of Comdex awards from both PC Week and Byte Magazine.
* NCD, booth #P2443 will feature Tarantella running on their latest thin-client device.
* Unisys Corporation, meeting room #N221, highlights Tarantella plus the SCO Network Computer Operating System on the Unisys Aquanta, thin client. Additionally, an on-line demonstration of Tarantella can be found at tarantella.sco.com

Since its announcement in December of 1996, Tarantella has been rapidly gaining industry support. Leading enterprise OEMs and providers of connectivity software and network computers have shown their support for Tarantella. More details can be found at
