Of course, not every swank new Mac development effort is taking place in strange little towns
peopled by grim, silent agricultural laborers. Take the recent work being done to shore up the infrastructure behind WordPerfect for the Mac. According to some Lithuanian textile workers creating a new productivity suite for the Danish royal family, the forthcoming upgrade to WordPerfect 3.5 represents a great leap forward that could easily merit a "4.0" moniker. Besides being far more stable than the current version, the rewrite applies compression across the board to cut file sizes by half.
But wait! That's not all. The new WordPerfect (currently in beta) also folds in an outliner feature that makes mountains o' sudsy macros for building documents and navigating files. The Knife is tickled pink at these signs of renewed Macophilia among the suspect Canadians of Corel.
