Yes, but UK, France and USA wouldn't think that a great idea. <should Greece even utter default, my response would be, "hey, how would you like your kids to grow up Turkish"> Neither would Germany. It is not many centuries since the Islamic Jihad hordes expanded up into Europe in that area and as far as Tours in the west from occupied Spain. A re-run now might be seen as undesirable.

Now that you mention it, maybe Turkey and Greece and others could form their own free-trading association. Germans could go on holiday in Helsinki or Brighton instead of Greece. Personally, I think souvlaki on Platamon beach beats chip butties in Brighton.
