Oh Mr. Puritan, I could care less what a politician does in his off hours...so long as its not illegal. The key is you don't want the whole world to know it. My problem with Weiner wasn't that he was flirting but that he chose to do it on the WWW for the world to see.

never seen a smart man act more stupidly

How about Tiger Woods? Young children, beautiful wife, respected public figure.

How about David and Bathsheba, Amnon and Tamar, Judah and (another) Tamar? Check the lives of Roman emporers, the European monarchs, Alexander Hamilton and Maria Reynolds, Bill Clinton, John Edwards ..... people making fools of themselves, ruining their lives and families over sex is as old as humanity.

Its why sexual morality and the character of leaders does matter (and why Democrats are stupid to argue against morality as important) .... because a leader should be in control of himself, not someone wrecking his life and career, making himself subject to blackmail ...

What's most interesting isn't that Weiner did something stupid of a sexual nature .... its how liberals and especially the liberal lamestream media defended him (some still defending him - Alec Baldwin), pretended to believe him, and rabidly attacked the parties who aired the story.
