"How do you expect a "more rational transition" to occur when you have the right wing base, Rushbo etc, and the posters on this thread as your allies?"

We left coal behind as a source of heating our homes and transitioned to natural gas quite readily without government mandates to do so. If letting the market take care of something is non-rational then stick a fork in the USA because the truly irrational (dumb people like you) have won.

“One German organic farm has killed twice as many people as the Fukushima nuclear disaster and the Gulf Oil spill combined.”

Reaction: “Crickets.” I say, ban organic foods. We can’t know if they’re safe!

Major road into Yosemite to open after snow delay
.........................................................
6/15 /2011
cbs47.tv

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (AP) — A major road into Yosemite National Park is set to reopen this weekend after a delay because of heavy winter snow.

Officials say Tioga Pass Road will be cleared by 8 a.m. Saturday, allowing visitors to enter through the park's east gate.

It'll be the fourth-latest opening since officials began keeping records in 1980.

At 9,945 feet, Tioga Pass Road is the highest east-west crossing of the Sierra Nevada. A snowpack almost twice what is normal has hampered road-clearing crews, who usually have the pass cleared by Memorial Day.

While the road itself will soon be open, campgrounds, stores and the gas station along the road will remain closed for now. Officials don't know yet know when those will open.

Associated Press Monday, June 20, 2011

DENVER Winter weather is returning to Colorado, just a day before summer officially begins.

National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Kalina in Boulder says several inches of snow have already begun falling in Colorado's high country.

Kalina says it affects most of the northern and southern Rocky mountains in Colorado.

Weather forecasters warned 3 to 8 inches of snow is expected at higher elevations. The winter weather advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. Monday.

Campers are being warned to be prepared for unseasonably cold conditions to prevent hypothermia and frostbite.
.Ryan Drake at the Colorado Department of Transportation said some mountain passes are icy, but no serious problems have been reported.
