You sound like Joseph McCarthy. "Have you now, or have you ever, been a member of the Communist Party, er, I mean, thought that offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico can have deletorious effects? No more bafflegab, just answer the question". People in search of ideological purity are IMO extremely dangerous and to be avoided at all costs. I am not an expert on deep water drilling in the GOM and don't have the time to research it in enough depth to have a properly informed opinion, so I will leave it to the experts to sort it out. I know, I know, everyone is supposed to have an opinion on everything these days whether they are qualified to have one or not. So call me a rebel. What I do hope is that the decision is made on the basis of science as much as possible rather than ideology, and that it is made without the discussion involving ideology, labeling, or name-calling. Of course, sometimes science cannot provide the answers -- I know, I know, blasphemy, but it is still true -- and that's when ideology comes into play. My natural inclination lies towards protecting the environment, so I am sure you are glad I am not in a position to have any effect on the\is decision. I am just as glad that you will have no effect on the decision either, albeit for somewhat different reasons. LC

Really? Bob? I'm more moderate than you and sometimes I think of you as somewhere right of Attila the HUN {GGGG} however, Lone Clone does not strike me as that sort of chap and that sort of request is really beneath you and those who read us on the thread. There needs to be room for all breadth of opinion here. We are searching for a middle ground that allows us to survive a coming crisis of supply and a looming doom if we do not find it.
