We old guys saw this chaos coming back in the 60's(population bomb). It was always just how it manifested and how well we handled it.

I would say we have handled it about as poorly as we could have.

On the subject of potash and argiculture that is easily seen as in a secular bull market for as far as the eye can see. 6.5 billion people and increasing and in the last decade massive deficit spending allowed the amount of people to eat well to double. In just about 10 years. Money went from west to east and the east was very hungry.

For potash, or other fertilizers, I follow and buy NPK, FED, AAA, FOS, and PPI.

But to the larger issue, migration to the rural areas, I see it first hand. I moved from California (Bay area) to Alaska 45 years ago.

I could see Califnoria's social systems would break down from over population. That has happened and made even worse by the social structures failing due to lack of adequate taxes, prop 13 (regardless of what people think about taxes, IMO).

People seldom think of the necessity of a strong healthy tribe or what it takes to ensure it. Food, education and social order.

People are Flooding up to Alaska because we are a healthy society and our social systems are intact. We have jobs and social order.

In the 70's we put an intelligent social system in place, including saving money for the future. Now it is paying off. We are running budget surpluses and have 50 billion in investments. No state taxes.

My younger daughter is a budding scientist (Duck)and administers and organic fertilizer company in Oregon.

We all recycle and some have gardens and but we do what we can to make earth a better place to be.

But I see the "lower 48" dsintegrating quickly and it saddens me.

Massive education is the only way out.
