I know why Gingrich said it, but look how quickly he took it back and then made that absurd statement: "anyone who quotes what I said is telling a lie". That was an amazing statement. That is the power of the Tea Party over the Republican's. Romney just ran into the same thing with the Tea Party regarding to his remarks about global warming. Rush said: "Mitt Romeny's run just ended." No republican is allowed to even think of raising taxes or suggesting anthropogenic global warming might be real real. So that is why I think congress may not raise the debt ceiling.
